The world cup celebrations were officially opened in Cape Town as thousands took to the streets. The world cup lights were turned on, three giant screens carried the concert at the fan fest park on the Grand Parade. A street procession highlighting the people of Cape Town rounded off events. The party then proceeded to Long Street.
